speared
Tonight with our mission group, we watched the movie End Of The Spear. I had seen it about two years ago and even then I was moved by it. It's strange the stuff you notice when you view it through different lenses. I remember thinking how brutal the native Indians of Ecuador seemed. Killing was a way of life to them. They felt that killing made them stronger. It really didn't matter if you were a member of an enemy tribe or one of their own. That was all they knew. Just as easily as breathing. That was a couple of years ago... As I watched it tonight, the brutality of the film caught my attention again. Except this time I kept thinking about how, in Matthew 5, Jesus defined murder. How easy it is for us to have anger in our heart toward others. That has become a way of life for us. We harbor hatred toward those who have wronged us. Members of our own family? Doesn't matter. We may as well hurl a spear right into some one's chest. Just as easily as breathing.

That movie tends to wreck our natural thoughts of how to make ourselves better, more comfortable. It actually makes those things look stupid! The Gospel is sooo powerful, but yet why do so many seem not to care? Idk?? Funny how the spirit ministers to followers of "the way".
