student/teacher

I had the privilege of speaking to the youth tonight. I really tried to prepare but I never sensed where God wanted me to go. There have been a few things that have occurred recently that have struck a nerve somewhere deep. After complaining about hearing nothing from God, Toni suggested I speak about that. It was quite terrifying not having any idea where the message was going but, in the end, it seems God had it worked out. At least to me. It's funny how when I think I'm "teaching" others, God usually ends up "teaching" me.

There's nothing I appreciate more from a minister (speaker, class leader, etc.) than honesty. I actually *like* to hear that they struggle like I do. If you were to stand in front of me and tell me that you were frustrated b/c you feel like God wasn't giving you anything, my respect for you would go up 2000%.

Kev,

I can't tell you how many times I've gone to Wednesday night without a message for our kids. God always works it out and gives me the right words to say every time. He is truly amazing in that sense!!
