Kevin, if this was a dig at EP, you might need to bail out now too. You sound so dang depressed all the time. Not that ministry is supposed to be happy all the time, but there certainly ought to be some joy somewhere, and I don't hear it here. I don't remember you being like this before.
John, some things are Mount Everest to some and some things seem to be Mount Everest to you, like staying under the authority of your "weak" leadership, the ones you voluntarily placed yourself under. Glad you wised up and got out though. I guess this post could translate into a youth ministry in decline with weak leadership in the youth pastor role. Good luck in your new thing, and I hope God can use it, but no more digs at us, okay? None of us have our "weak" senior pastor to kick around anymore. And I guess that lack of connection with the outside community is why we only had several thousand attendees and several hundred responses during those revivals in the past year. Maybe your 3rd grader can enlighten you a little bit.
Whoah Anonymous! You must not know Kevin to well...for if you did you would know of his great love and passion for the "church". If you knew him at all then you know he was referring to the church as a whole and not a speciffic body such as EP. We can not deny the decline of the "church" in the world today and we as Christians should be burdened for this. I happen to admire Kevin's passion for this and his love of the gospel. He has personally been so impacted by the gospel in his life that he only wants others to know about it. I think you what you might be calling depression might just be Kevin's burden for the Lord to be glorified through HIS gospel and lives to be transformed. Just something to think about.
I should have also mentioned that I obviously don't know John as well as I know Kevin however anytime that I have been around John I have observed his great love for Jesus. It is a real loss to not have John at EP as I would have loved for my son to have been under his leadership. It takes a lot of faith to leave the security of a job to follow a vision he feels like God has given him. John too has an undeniable passion for the "church" as well. Jennifer
It is probably pointless to respond to anonymous volleys such as this. However, I believe Jesus loves you and as a follower of Christ, I know He would want me to love you as well. I am not going to fire off silly or hurtful one-liners to look smart or witty. This was not meant as an insult to anyone. I am not trying to be divisive or disrespectful. Sadly, these are signs of an epidemic that plague many churches today. We (believers everywhere) should stop pretending there is nothing wrong and openly address these issues. I do not claim to know the stats, but hundreds if not thousands of churches will close their doors this year alone. God is still in control. He will be ok. We, on the other hand, will have much explaining to do if we do not take our call seriously. I did not make the chart, someone much smarter and with a lot more information than me came up with it. My prayer is that God will do great things through EP. Oh, I’m praying for you also.

Yea, that's so simple my soon to be 3rd grader could discern, but that seems to be Mount Everest to some?!?
