I'm not sure where this book came from. We were going through some boxes for a garage sale and it was in there. It appeared to be several years old. I had just finished another book and my appetite for reading has been up recently, so I thought I'd start it. The question is asked "How do you love God?" What does that look like? The standard "I go to church" won't suffice. Is there evidence in your daily journey? It is full of inspirational accounts of people living like Christians are called to live. I wasn't familiar with the author so I had no preconceived notion as what to expect. It turns out he was on Richard Nixon's staff during the Watergate scandal. He even served seven months in prison and when released, started Prison Fellowship Ministry . Once again, I am amazed at how God works. He usually uses a bad situation for good(Gen 50:20, Rom 8:28). It isn't unusual for us to pray for protection and prosperity, but it seems like we might be missing our calling by doing that. Don't get me wrong, I want to be happy and safe like the next person. That's an area that could easily become an idol. It makes me think of that Mercy Me song, "Bring The Rain". Think about that the next time you're singing along.
