selah
We got together with friends last night. It was one of those spur of the moment things. We sat around and enjoyed simple, yet delicious food and conversation. At the time I wasn't aware of this but after reflecting on it, I realized something. I think we celebrated Christmas how it was meant to be celebrated. No gifts were exchanged except the gift of togetherness. Sounds corny, but it is soul stirring to share an evening with close friends who are pursuing Christ with all they have. We acknowledged the birth of Jesus but we also remembered His bloody death on that cross. I know without either event, the other is impossible or meaningless. Don't let the manger be the only image you dwell on this Christmas.
