For those that don't know, this is
The Very Large Array. It's in New Mexico and I wanted to stop by last year when we were out there. It was a little out of our way so it didn't happen. I always like to see pictures of the many (27 to be exact) radio telescopes lined up, straining to hear a faint signal from some distant astronomical object. It reminds me of the concept of prayer. That's what we talked about today in our kid's church lesson. It seems everyone understands the part about talking, but it's the listening part that we seem to have trouble with. At least I do. Sometimes, I feel like God is a very distant quasar, emitting a garbled bit of information for me to decipher. I know that's not the case, but occasionally I feel like that. Anyway... It has been a good weekend. We (my great friends, my wife, & myself) got an awesome opportunity to be encouraged and enlightened by some very godly counsel. I got to see (and feel) firsthand the power of righteous prayer. Thank you God.
