We went to see the movie Up today. It was a little different than what I expected. I couldn't help but notice the marquee for the other movies showing. As I read the titles, it seemed funny at first but not really. I saw the trailer for the hell movie a few weeks ago and it looks pretty dark. Are we really that unconcerned about where our soul will spend eternity? Let's make a movie about being cursed and tormented by demons. Like there would even be a contest between Jesus and the devil. They shudder at the mention of His name. Although I doubt the gospel is even brought up in the movie. That wouldn't be entertainment. Why do we have such an appetite for darkness? What kind of message does this send to the lost? I know they're just movies, but it's sobering when you think about it. I'm supposed to shepherd my family through this mess? I feel woefully inadequate.
