Flashback

I'm not cool so I don't care how you take this. There's a chance it'll be corny. I don't know how, but I stumbled across this. For unknown reasons, it was uplifting. I grew up listening to this guy. I mean I was a little kid and I remember my parents listening to him. I always liked his music but you just forget about stuff like that as you get older. I remember reading about how when he was a kid his mom gave him up because she thought his blindness was because he lacked faith in God. It's a pretty sad story. I don't know if the album is good or not. It was just nice to see someone show some interest in something spiritual. Check it out.

Kevin, I can't hear a Ronnie Milsap or Charlie Pride song without thinking about our childhood. I've noticed alot of "classic" country artists who have been making gospel albums of late. I'm not knocking any of them, but why wait 30 years to make one? Was having top 40 hits more important than your faith? Is there some need to make some fast cash from the older generation (yes, that includes us)? Funny how they can sing about drinking, cheating, etc, while claiming they were a Christian all along. Then again, I claimed to be a Christian as a teenager (oops). O.K. I'm through with my rant.
