This is Monica. She was the translator in our group. She is 31 and has already spent a year in seminary in Guatemala. She drove us to and from our ministry sites in a small pick-up, on winding roads barely wide enough to walk on. I've got some video I'll try to post later. She is apparently pretty good with the paint brush as well.
This is Roberto and Esther. They are married and work at the camp as translators. She is also an RN. I became ill about half-way through the week. She was wonderful. She kept bringing me food, water, and medicine. They also prayed for me everytime they checked on me. On our last day, Roberto and Esther traveled with us back to Quito. They were so good and patient with our entire group.
This is my friend Jason. I've known him from a distance for a while. It's amazing how you get to know someone so much better when you're working on things eternal. To see them grow before your eyes in just a matter of days is truly miraculous. It was a privilege to be around people of such character. Funny how being on mission is as much about yourself as it is the people you think you are helping. Pray for them (and me). And, no that's not a bullet proof vest. It's just my backpack over a tri-colored shirt.

Tell me that's not a bullet-proof vest you are wearing. Was there a hostile environment there or something?
