Yeah, I know. This heat is not funny at all. I finally made it home about 11:30 last night. I (and 4 others) decided to take advantage of our flight being overbooked. The airline gave us some vouchers for future travel. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but... Really, it was quite an adventure (speeding through the streets of Quito at 4 am, our driver ran several red lights and stop signs, getting "politely" asked {in Spanish} to come to the tarmac by airport security because of a suspicious bag in our group{turned out to be tuna fish}, having the dishes on the plane come crashing to the floor after a "hot approach" in Miami, having our bags scanned in customs because of a last minute purchase in the Quito airport {flowers had to be destroyed}, having our meal vouchers rejected in Miami, having some of our bags miss our flight, waiting at DFW for the next flight with our bags, retrieving a lost guitar... these are the things I can remember) and I suppose things work out for a reason in some way.
